Learning games for kids.

Free learning games for kids in grades 1 to 5, built for our own children first and then put out for everyone else. They run in any browser, they work on a phone, and they are quiet about you: no accounts, no ads, no cookies, and nothing a child types ever leaves the device.

Straight answers

What parents and teachers ask

Are these learning games really free?

Yes. Every game here is free to play with no purchase, no subscription, no trial and nothing locked behind a paywall. There are no ads either.

Do kids need an account or a login?

No. A child types a first name so the game can say hello and put it on the report card. There is no sign up, no email, no password and no parent account. The name is stored in the browser on that device and is never sent anywhere.

What grades and ages are these games for?

Math Arena, Science Lab and Word Factory cover grades 1 to 5, roughly ages 6 to 11, and the child picks their own grade. Guess the Country works for about age 6 and up, including adults, because the later levels are genuinely hard.

Are the questions aligned to a standard?

Yes, and to three different sets, because Florida uses different standards for each subject. Math Arena is built on Florida's B.E.S.T. Standards for Mathematics, covering all 162 benchmarks for grades 1 to 5. Science Lab is built on the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for Science, covering all 156. Word Factory is built on the B.E.S.T. Standards for English Language Arts, covering all 30 benchmarks that concern words and spelling. Every question displays the benchmark code it comes from, such as MA.4.NSO.2.4, SC.5.E.7.1 or ELA.3.V.1.2. None of them is affiliated with or endorsed by the Florida Department of Education.

Is any data collected about my child?

Effectively none. The games ask for a first name so the screen can greet the child, and that name, along with every answer, star and report card total, stays in that browser’s local storage on that one device. There is no account, no login, no cookie and no advertising script. The only thing that reaches a server is an anonymous page-view count through Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie, builds no profile and cannot follow anyone to another site. Nothing a child types is ever part of it.

Can parents erase the progress?

Yes. Math Arena, Science Lab and Word Factory all have a reset control on the start screen that deletes the saved name, every grade’s levels and stars, and the report card totals. It asks for confirmation first and warns that it cannot be undone.

Do the games work offline or on a phone?

They work on a phone, a tablet or a laptop, and once a page has loaded it keeps working without a connection, because everything runs in the browser.

Is there a report card?

Math Arena, Science Lab and Word Factory all produce one at the end of a level: questions answered, accuracy, the skills practised and the benchmarks behind them. It downloads as an image a parent can keep or print.

Can I see the questions without playing through the game?

Yes. Math Arena and Science Lab each have a preview page listing one live example of every single topic, with its diagram, the answer choices, the explanation and the help card. They are at math.mehdee.com/preview.html, science.mehdee.com/preview.html and word.mehdee.com/preview.html.

Games we are still building

Building something a class or a family would actually use is the whole point, so if your child needs something we have not made yet, tell us.
